Merck Millipore Introduces Elix Essential 3, 5, 10, 15 water purification systems
Merck Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck, has announced the addition of its Elix Essential systems to the company's existing range of Elix water purification equipment.
The new systems integrate patented Elix electrodeionisation (EDI) technology along with several other water purification techniques such as pretreatment, reverse osmosis, and UV lamp treatment in order to produce Type 2 pure water.
The new Elix Essential system range includes models with flow rates of 3, 5, 10 or 15 liters of pure water per hour, and daily production possibilities of up to 300 liters.
Product water is recommended for a variety of uses: as feed to laboratory equipment, preparation of microbiological media, buffer and pH solutions; histology; chemical reactions run in water; and manual glassware rinsing.
Users of Elix Essential systems have control over pure water quality as a result of the systems' precision monitoring equipment that measures key water quality parameters.
In addition, RFID technology provides traceability for the Progard pre-treatment cartridges.
‘The systems' overall reduced water and electricity use also enables additional savings,’ said Stephanie Bourin, Lab Water product manager.
‘Intuitive controls make these new systems easy to use.
Operation is simple: the display shows just the information required, and the backlit LCD screen changes color to show the importance of system messages.' Elix Essential systems have a small footprint and can be installed on or under the bench, as well as on a wall, letting users optimise laboratory space.
