Scienion will launch the new version of its sciFLEXARRAYER S1 at European Lab Automation in Hamburg, May 30-31.
The compact non-contact piezo dispensing roboter with an increased throughput and versatility offers precise ultra-low volume liquid handling for a variety of applications in multiplexed diagnostics and cellular screening approaches.
Dr. Holger Eickhoff, CEO of Scienion AG, said: “The new version of the sciFLEXARRAYER S1 is the consequent further adoption to market requirements for low-cost non-contact dispensers.
"The new S1 model is based on the same drop-on-demand technology as all other sciFLEXARRAYERs but compared to the older version it offers increased throughput and capacity.
"With no increase in price the deckspace has quadrupled and the system can be equipped with multiple dispensers and optical systems for precise biomolecule deposition onto various microarray formats, Biosensor or MEMS devices.“
Developed as a research tool for molecular biology research labs the sciFLEXARRAYER S1 is capable of non-contact arraying of DNA and proteins, the production of cell transfection arrays, loading of biosensors and the preparation of MALDI targets.
Within one second, liquid volumes between 100 picoliters and 1 microliter can be spotted in steps of 100 picoliters.
The compact system offers deckspace for up to five microplates that can be used either as source or destination locations. Due to its compact design, the sciFLEXARRAYER S1 requires minimal lab space and can be moved around easily.
