Lasermet is offering a safety training course at the National Physical Laboratory in London on Wednesday 17th October 2012.
The workshop covers safe working practices for users of lasers in the lab and in industry.
It is also for safety advisers, managers of laser users and product designers.
For those who have not attended a laser safety training course or undergone laser hazard awareness training in the last 5 years this is an ideal opportunity to get up to speed on the latest specifications, and be reminded of the safe and hazardous situations when using lasers.
The topics covered include health and safety basics, light fundamentals, definitions and units, CW and pulsed beams, beam properties, laser fundamentals, physiology of the human eye, exposure limits, laser classification, laser safety controls, laser safety management, group exercises and demonstrations.
The course also includes hazards from optical sources, laser classification, laser protective eyewear, legal requirements, laser safety interlock control requirements, guidelines for laser safety officers and safety calculations.
