Molecular Devices will showcase its SpectraMax i3 multi-mode microplate reader and AquaMax Washer.
The systems will be on display at LaboTec Suisse 2013 in Lausanne, Switzerland from 15-16 May 2012.
The SpectraMax i3 Multi-Mode Detection Platform is available as a stand-alone reader with three broad detection modes: luminescence, absorbance, and fluorescence.
Users are then given the option to upgrade to additional applications and detection modes which expand the system’s detection capability.
Additional detection modules include cellular imaging with the SpectraMax MiniMax Imaging Cytometer and cartridges for Time-Resolved Fluorescence, Fluorescence Polarisation, and AlphaScreen assays.
According to the company, combining cellular imaging with microplate-based applications offers new ways for scientists to compress their workflows and increase efficiency.
AquaMax Microplate Washers are configurable with user interchangeable heads for both 96- and 384-well microplate washing applications, including plate or cell washing.
When used for biochemical assays, the system is configured with the 96 or 384 plate wash heads to vigorously remove unbound material and reagents in microplate wells.
For cell-based assays, the AquaMax Washer can be configured with the 96- and 384-well cell wash heads.
Cell wash heads have angled dispensing pins to allow extremely gentle washing of weakly adherent cell types, maintaining cell integrity while ensuring thorough washing.
