Synbiosis has introduced its aCOLyte 3 system designed for pour, spread and spiral plate counting.
The system is designed to read plates of up to 90mm in a few seconds, generating plate count results which can be ten times faster than manual counting.
The system is also capable of linking to excel or open office and numerical count data and plate images can be transferred a logged on either platform.
The aCOLyte 3provides colour image display and comes with software similar to Synbiosis’ ProtoCOL 3 which links to the aCOLyte 3, but it is also capable of connecting to a laptop or PC via USB.
Additionally, the system boasts detection of colonies as small as 0.3mm and has the option of a detachable screen which can help prevent reflection or glare that could affect the count.
