The company is capable of producing various configurations of prism, including: amici/roof, bi-Fresnal, corner cube retroreflectors, penta, rhomboid and wedge.
Available as single components (up to 450mm) or cemented units - Optical Surfaces claims to routinely achieve angle accuracy of better than 2 arc seconds, surface accuracy of lambda/20 p-v, 10/5 surface quality and microroughness of less than 1.2nm rms.
A prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract or re-direct light. At least two of the flat surfaces must have an angle between them.
The exact angles between the surfaces depend on the application. Manufactured from a range of top quality optical glasses and available coated (AR, Reflective) or uncoated.
Prisms are suitable for various applications including image rotation, inversion, re-direction and to disperse light into its consituent colours.
