Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has introduced 14 allergens and two panels to the 3gAllergy allergen menu on the IMMULITE 2000 and IMMULITE 2000 XPi immunoassay systems.
3gAllergy is a third-generation allergen-specific IgE assay, delivering fast and accurate results to help enhance the quality of care and service provided to the patient.
The advanced technology behind the blood test is designed to enhance both sensitivity and specificity.
Molecular allergens added to the system bring the total offering to more than 480 individual allergens and include pollen and fruit allergies such as birch pollen, peach, apple and cherry.
Specific and mixed panel allergens added to the menu include: pacific squid, jack mackerel, salmon roe, alaskan pollock roe, Japanese hop, bamboo shoot, yam, food panel 4 (wheat, corn, rice, sesame and buckwheat) and grass panel 5 (sweet vernal grass, bermuda grass, orchard grass, timothy grass and common reed grass).
Adding 3gAllergy onto the IMMULITE 2000 and IMMULITE 2000 XPi systems provides an option for the provision of an in-house allergy service.
The system is easy-to-use and its fully-automated technology enables consolidation of allergy testing and other immunoassays onto one platform.
Easy operation, system reliability and rapid turnaround times are all key to the success of 3gAllergy. A further group of molecular allergens is also due to be released in the near future to include some of the most frequently requested bee and wasp venom allergens.
