SP Scientific has announced its summer 2014 programme of LyoLearn webinars.
The LyoLearn free educational webinars, delivered by industry experts, are devoted to lyophilisation, freeze-drying and related topics.
Attendees are encouraged to ask questions of the presenter and get their answers in real time.
On 25 June 2014 Peter Stäertzel of GILYOS GmbH will present ’Principles of Formulation Design’ - an introduction to freeze drying of L-arginine-based formulation systems. It will include a discussion of physicochemical and thermal properties of formulations containing different L-arginine-based excipient combinations.
The influence of the type of L-arginine counter ion will be highlighted as well as drying performance and final product characteristics to assess the relevant key considerations if using L-arginine-based protein formulations.
Common Misconceptions in Freeze-Drying (II) is a webinar presentation, due to air on 26 July 2014.
It will address some of the most common misconceptions in freeze-drying (lyophilisation) relating to formulations, process cycles, equipment and scale-up.
The presentation will follow on from Common Misconceptions in Freeze-Drying (I) which discussed basics of the product, process and equipment.
In the presentation, Kevin Ward of BioPharma Technology will challenge some of the myths and misunderstandings relating to the measurement of shelf and product temperatures, the use of some PAT tools and the scalability of parameters from the lab to full-scale manufacturing.
