The latest addition to Lab M’s Pinnacle pre-poured plates improves accuracy of Salmonella confirmation, the company claims.
The Lab M Pinnacle Salmonella ABC pre-poured plates are designed for the isolation of salmonellae from food samples and are based on the company’s Harlequin Salmonella ABC medium.
Performance is improved by increased selectivity against competitive flora, such as E. coli, and improved recovery of Salmonella, the company claims.
The medium also possesses an enhanced dual chromogen system that is designed to ensurecolonies of Salmonella are always green while non-target organisms appear black or colourless, for clear differentiation.
The chromogenic system reduces the risk of missing organisms that are present only in low numbers and results in fewer false positives, Lab M says.
