The Bio-Rad Laboratories benchtop S3e Cell Sorter with AutoGimbal nozzle alignment system offers walk-away automation for accurate and reliable cell sorts of one or two populations.
The S3e Cell Sorter builds on the original S3 Cell Sorter technology with the addition of the AutoGimbal automated system.
This automated system aligns the nozzle tip and stream to the optics, eliminating the need for manual repositioning.
The AutoGimbal System is designed to make these adjustments using five motorised controllers.
The system is ideal for sorting cells expressing fluorescent proteins such as eGFP, DsRed, and mCherry, or for cells labelled with fluorescent markers such as antibodies labelled with PE, PE tandems and other fluorophores excited by the 488 and 561 nm lasers, Bio-Rad claims.
According to Bio-Rad, the simple setup and hands-free calibration eliminates the pain points of typical high-end instruments, making cell sorting easier and accessible to researchers who are increasingly using these instruments for low-complexity sorts.
