Public chromatography applications database has been almost doubled in size, through collaboration with a number of leading column suppliers
Advanced Chemistry Development (ACD/Labs) has updated its free Public Chromatography Applications Database, which brings the number of HPLC and GC applications provided through collaboration with major column vendors from 1830 to 3456 in total.
The Public Chromatography Applications Database is a limited version of the Chromatography Applications Database included with ACD/Labs's commercial software offering, ChromManager.
The public database contains detailed applications provided by Agilent, Alltech, Beckman Coulter, Eprogen (Eichrom), GL Sciences, Grace Vydac, GROMAnalytik +HPLC, Hamilton, PerkinElmer, Polymer Laboratories, Regis, Supelco, Thermo Electron, and ZirChrom.
Applications can be searched by numerous chromatographic parameters, as well as by structure, substructure, and structure similarity.
The extensive search capabilities, combined with the high quality of data and large number of applications in the updated database, have proven to be an invaluable resource for chromatographers facing the challenge of selection of starting points for method development.
Mike McBrien, chromatography product manager at ACD/Labs, states: "This project makes available a considerable body of chromatographic development work on the part of the column vendors and their customers.
This is the first web-based resource of this kind, and we're pleased to be able to offer it as a freely-available tool".
The updated Public Chromatography Applications Database has been posted to ACD/Labs's online analytical data delivery tool, Web Librarian.
Information on how to obtain a free trial of Web Librarian and access to the Public Chromatography Applications Database is available on ACD Labs's website.
