Encoded photometric infrared spectroscopy units are shipped to OEMs for evaluation into use for new analytical and process instrumentation
Aspectrics has begun shipping evaluation units of its encoded photometric infrared spectroscopy (EP-IR) technology to OEMs who manufacture analytical and process instrumentation.
Specific details of individual technology evaluation agreements were not disclosed.
"We are pleased that we are now supplying our EP-IR technology to OEMs who will evaluate its use in various analysis and monitoring markets," said Paul Salsgiver, CEO of Aspectrics.
"We believe that an opportunity exists for EP-IR to replace the nondispersive infrared (NDIR), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and gas chromatographic technologies currently used for process monitoring and environmental applications, as a single EP-IR system can replace multiple NDIR modules and provide better performance".
At the heart of Aspectrics's EP-IR analyser is a rotating disc onto which up to 256 concentric encoding tracks are formed.
The EP-IR analyser continuously acquires data on every optical channel in parallel to provide the most accurate intensity measurements.
The encoding tracks of the EP-IR analyser replace the detector elements of a conventional detector array and effectively offers NDIR ruggedness with FTIR performance, says the company.
