Beckman Coulter introduced the ProteomeLab DU 800 protein characterisation system, optimised for protein research recently. Part of the company's new ProteomeLab family of products, this new UV/Vis spectrophotometer system is a complete package for protein research.
It includes all required accessories and software applications, including a Peltier controller to maintain accurate and constant temperatures without the need for a water bath.
The protein assay analysis application determines the total protein concentration with pre-defined methods for common assays. The enzyme mechanism application can be used to characterise a protein by determining the speed of a reaction (rate) and the effects of a catalyst (enzyme).
In addition, the effect of inhibitors can be analysed.
