Beckman Coulter introduces CEQ 8000 software version 6.0, providing DNA sequence data analysis functions that automatically identify and trims off vector material, foreign sequences and poor quality bases.
The quality values function helps researchers identify and isolate the highest quality portions of reads, to improve the accuracy and completeness of sequence assembly.
This latest version of the program allows users to set their own quality criteria and automatically applies those quality values in the trimming off of undesirable data.
It is ideal for genome sequencing assembly, polymorphism studies, expressed sequence tag (EST) analysis, and phylogenetic analysis.
"Automation of the trimming process improves the sequence assembly and eliminates a critical analysis bottleneck", explains Noreen Galvin, strategic product marketing manager for Beckman Coulter. "Other sequence analysis software programs require the use of third party programs to assess the quality of base calls and subsequently trim off the poor quality bases".
CEQ 8000 software version 6.0 ultimately enables the delivery of more accurate sequences, allowing researchers to set and monitor quality standards for the final sequence.
