Two new ranges of polymer reagant microspheres, with and without activated surfaces and dyed in fluorescent and non-fluorescent colours, are now available from Brookhaven International
Produced by Duke Scientific, the first of these is the range of Reagent Microspheres designed for researchers developing lateral flow diagnostic tests.
They are also ideal for other applications in diagnostics and biotechnology requiring labelling and detection of substances at very low concentrations.
They are available in four different brightly fluorescent colours and also in non-fluorescent red or blue.
Four different surface functionalities are available - sulphate, carboxyl, carboxyl-modified and aldehyde-modified.
These highly uniform microspheres have a diameter of 0.4µm with a coefficient of variation less than 5%.
Importantly, the particles are prepared without the use of surfactants so that they are ready for immediate use without precleaning.
The second new range of particles consists of Reagent Microspheres with Activated Surfaces designed for attachment of biological molecules.
They come in a variety of sizes and surface functionalities, offering researchers a wide choice of products for applications such as diagnostics, genomics and cell labelling or sorting.
Again, most of the microspheres are surfactant-free and are optimised for either hydrophobic adsorption or covalent attachment of biological molecules.
These microspheres are supplied in plain form but can be dyed with intensely coloured plain or fluorescent dyes as required.
