New edition software optimised for fluorescence resonance energy transfer microscopy examinations in cell and developmental biology laboratories
The last few years has witnessed a rapid increase in the use of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (Fret) microscopy in cell and developmental biology laboratories to provide spatial information about the interactions of protein partners inside living cells.
With the launch of a dedicated Fret edition of its AxioVision software, Carl Zeiss is making it easier and quicker to carry out these measurements with increased accuracy. AxioVision Fret significantly increases measurement accuracy through its 16-bit image capture facility.
A Fret-optimised user interface enables users to select the technique most suitable for their requirements from a wide range of options and gives easy access to colour-coded images of Fret specimens for direct measurement.
AxioVision Fret will automatically determine the optimum measurement time and capture an entire time-lapse image series (donor, acceptor, and Fret) with just a few mouse commands.
Correction techniques and acceptor bleaching are included and the software can also be used for the recording of standard fluorescence images.
Together with the motorised Axioplan 2 imaging, Axioskop 2 mot or Axiovert 200 M research microscopes, AxioVision Fret software is the ideal system for Fret analysis.
