Carl Zeiss is adding a high-resolution 5 megapixel digital camera with FireWire data interface (IEEE 1394) to its suite of high-powered AxioCam cameras.
With a dynamic range of 1:1300, the MRc5 produces colour images of exceptional accuracy, brilliance, and needle sharp detail.
The high speed FireWire interface simplifies connection to a PC or laptop and the single cable connection enables full, computer-controlled camera operation. The high resolution and high speed also means that images can be obtained from moving samples, artefact-free.
Results can be reviewed immediately after image acquisition, allowing precise real-time adjustments to be made to the specimen.

Users can select the working resolution up to an ultra-high maximum of 5 megapixels.
36-bit RGB colour depth and 12-bit digitisation ensures loss-free image dynamics and guarantee maximum colour accuracy and image quality even when working with difficult specimens, such as reflecting surfaces in materials microscopy. "The AxioCam MRc5 is an integral part of Zeiss' aim to offer complete imaging solutions that meet the needs of microscopists from all disciplines", states Lambert.
