Cellomics Europe has announced the launch of an enhanced and improved version of its ArrayScan high content screening (HCS) reader.
The ArrayScan HCS reader version 4.0 provides a complete, automated solution for cell-based screening, allowing users to extract vital data on the relative distribution and activity of cellular constituents combined with morphometric measurements in fixed samples.
Building upon the large installed base of previous generation ArrayScan HCS readers, version 4.0 incorporates a new, completely automated optical bench, expanded filter combinations, additional objective options, and optimised computer hardware and software.
The result is significant enhancements in key performance criteria including flexibility, ease of use, and speed.
The new system, developed after consultation with Cellomics HCS customer base, provides a unique solution that allows the expansion of high content screening with more users per instrument, carrying out a wider variety of multiplexed assays, in a much shorter time frame.
A new 'protocol assignment' feature allows multiple scientists to carry out different HCS assays in the same unattended run.
Expanded six-colour capability enables wider reagent selection to be applied to each multi-parameter assay.
Speed enhancements have resulted in a 40% reduction in plate scan times.
