Cimage NovaSoft, the supplier of e-business software, has released its new content management system, Cimage e3-CM, developed to increase operational efficiency in plants and facilities
Compatible with the Cimage e3 suite of content lifecycle management solutions, e3-CM enables companies to intelligently manage information and the relationships between all types of documents.
Using e3-CM, organisations can manage the processes that change and distribute key operational and design documents and other related information.
The solution also links to other business systems, such as works management and ERP solutions.
It reduces operational administration, improving productivity and compliance, while enabling companies to significantly streamline their costs.
Using Cimage e3-CM, information such as design drawings can be linked to associated vendor documentation, or equipment registers to related procurement details.
Workflow is used to automate the routine tasks that need to be performed in order to carry out typical operational processes, providing assurance that correct procedures are complied with.
It enables managers to monitor quality and comply with regulatory issues whilst keeping a full historical audit trail.
Geoff Gee, product marketing manager at Cimage NovaSoft says: "Over 90% of information about a plant or facility is contained within documentation.
With increasing regulatory and safety pressures, managing changes to critical operational information and providing personnel instant access to only the most up to date information is fast becoming a major concern." "We have designed Cimage e3-CM to manage and automate these processes, enabling companies to operate more efficiently and safely, while reducing overall operational costs." Cimage e3-CM provides online access to relevant information, around the clock, seven days a week.
As different types of information can be automatically interrelated, staff can quickly locate a complete set of up to date information.
e3-CM supports a wide variety of drawings and documents, including engineering drawings (CAD), scanned images, database records and MS Office files and emails, which can be viewed via a web browser, making it easier to use and reducing the need for training.
The solution also enhances knowledge retention by carefully managing historical information for re-use in future projects.
For operational and maintenance personnel, work packs can be easily assembled much nearer to the date of change, ensuring that up-to-date information is provided. References to outstanding or pending changes can also be flagged and the solution supports batch printing of work packs to save time.
The Cimage e3-CM solution is flexible and open, with template data models that enable rapid deployment.
It also integrates easily with other business systems and provides out of the box integration with a number of other software systems, such as SAP R/3. Page 1 of 1
