The Data Translation DT9800 series of 12-bit 100kHz acquisition modules now starts at only £435 and this includes 500V galvanic isolation of the system - highly unusual at this price point and essential if your USB module is to survive the rigours of industrial applications (standard USB modules simply link the OV input to PC ground over the USB cable, which can easily result in voltage spikes corrupting measurements or damaging your board). The DT9800 range spans 100kHz 12-bit resolution inputs to 50kHz 16-bit resolution inputs with/without two multiplying 12/16-bit DACs and a host of counter/timers and digital I/O.
Bare-board versions are available for OEMs to integrate within their systems.
Also included are the DT9805 and DT9806 versions for highly accurate temperature measurement using on-board cold-junction compensation.
