Integra Biosciences has announced a special promotion, running until the end of February 2004, whereby all laboratories purchasing a new Vacusafe comfort liquid aspiration system will receive a free Vacuboy hand operator set.
The Vacusafe comfort incorporates all the essential elements for safe and productive disposal of biological liquid waste.
Coupled with the ergonomically profiled Vacuboy hand operator and a range of adapters the system provides the flexibility to aspirate supernatant liquids from cell culture vessels, centrifuge tubes, 24- and 96-well plates and sample vials.
The Vacusafe comfort represents the current state-of-the-art in liquid aspiration technology that will appeal to many pharmaceutical, biotech, clinical and chemical laboratories.
Incorporating the latest ultra-low noise pump technology the system provides infinitely variable vacuum control enabling gentle aspiration from the microlitre range right up to rapid emptying of relatively large containers.
Simply switch on, set the vacuum, and Vacusafe comfort is operational.
As soon as the target vacuum has been reached, the pump switches off automatically.
If the vacuum collapses in use, the pump switches back on automatically.
Waste is collected in a shatterproof four litre polypropylene container that is fitted with an overflow filter that stops liquids from getting into the pump.
All parts of the Vacusafe comfort and Vacuboy hand operator that may come in contact with waste liquid may be repeatably sterilised at 121C for 20 minutes, guaranteeing maximum safety even with hazardous and critical liquids.
A filter on the back of each Vacusafe comfort ensures that no aspirated material including aerosols containing bacteria or viruses can find their way into the pump housing or out into the surrounding laboratory environment.
