Organiser says there will not be a better opportunity in Europe this year for scientists to keep up with the latest life science product and technology developments from around the world
After the 'roaring success' of last year's International Biotech and Lab Automation Europe with a 20% year-on-year increase in visitors, more and more exhibitors including Thermo, Caliper Life Sciences and Eppendorf are viewing the event as a natural stage to launch new products, reports the organiser.
As Robin Brown, general manager, Caliper Life Sciences (formerly Zymark) put it: "Following the success of last year's event, Lab Automation Europe 2004 is our venue of choice to introduce our new microfluidics products and we are pleased to exhibit the new LabChip 90 for the first time in the UK at this major lab show".
Alison Hebbes, European marketing manager at Thermo Electron, concurred: "International Biotech and Lab Automation Europe was a very successful event for Thermo and is the ideal opportunity for us to present our broad product range, some of which will be on display for the first time".
With over 2500 visitors expected, many other exhibitors are planning to use the show to present new products for the first time, says the organiser.
These include Eppendorf, a supplier of systems and research tools for the biotech industry.
Eppendorf will be launching its new 12-place/epMotion 5075 workstation for automated liquid handling, PCR and DNA extraction.
"We wanted a high profile show for the launch of this significant product" commented Eppendorf's Rowan Maulder.
"The combination of the International Biotech and Lab Automation Europe, with its reputation as a major international life sciences event, made it the obvious choice".
