Powerful yet cost effective 'personal' scanning electron microscope packed with features normally only found on top-of-the-range models
The Hitachi S-2600N is a compact yet powerful scanning electron microscope available through Jencons-PLS.
The S-2600N is ideal for users with little or no experience of SEM but is powerful enough to produce superb results for experienced users.
For the former, comprehensive levels of automation and even a computer animation guide you through every step on the way to producing professional results.
For the latter, variable pressure, a 0.5 to 30keV accelerating voltage and a 15 to 300,000x magnification range, along with a whole host of other features, mean that the S-2600N will provide a cost effective research tool.
The S-2600N is available from less than £70,000.
One significant feature of the S-2600N over a conventional light microscope is the increased depth of field - more than 250x better.
Jencons-PLS and Hitachi have collaborated to provide three 'SEMs in-a-box'. This means that they are supplied complete with everything needed to install and run the units in the laboratory, including PC, monitor, pumps, chiller unit and transformer.
All three units feature the versatility of variable pressure imaging and one even includes a fully integrated system for simultaneous imaging and elemental analysis.
Variable pressure allows difficult samples, such as hydrated animal or plant tissue, to be examined without the need for time-consuming preparation techniques, saving both time and money.
The simple-to-use, icon-driven PC software allows the S-2600N to be set up quickly and easily, allowing the user more time to examine samples.
The unique, tab-based interface organises operation of the microscope into just six easy to follow sections - basic set-up conditions, image capture, image display, processing, archiving and, finally, printing.
The S-2600N makes things even easier by using functions for automated focus, brightness and contrast.
The S-2600N offers excellent resolution and magnification capabilities over the full accelerating voltage range, making it suitable for a host of different applications.
