Millipore has announced the availability of 33mm sample preparation Millex syringe filters with Millipore Express Plus polyethersulphone (PES) membrane.
The syringe filters are used for general particulate filtration prior to high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or other instrument analysis.
The syringe filters allow the removal of fine particles to protect chromatography columns from premature plugging.
The filter's Millipore Express Plus membrane provides rapid flow rates and high throughput for the sterilisation and clarification of 10 to 200ml of aqueous and mild organic solutions.
The low-protein binding membrane delivers twice the throughput of other membrane types.
In addition, the syringe filters have approximately 20% greater surface area than standard 25mm filter units for faster flow rates.
Despite the increased surface area, the hold-up volume is less than 25mm syringe filters.
The 33mm Millex syringe filters with PES membrane are available in both 0.22um and 0.45um pore sizes.
Millipore also offers 33mm sample preparation Millex filter units with PVDF membrane, as well as sterile syringe filters with a variety of membrane types.
