Truly portable solution can record and store video sequences up to one hour in length at VCR quality on a 1Gb CompactFlash card
Moritex Europe has announced the launch of the video PalmScope, a new affordable solution for on-site inspection tasks that will benefit from video recording, image capture and storage.
Weighing only 1200g the video PalmScope is a truly portable solution that can record and store video sequences up to one hour in length at VCR quality on a 1Gb CompactFlash card.
Used in conjunction with industrial endoscope or borescope applications including inspection of underground pipes, aero-engines, storage tanks, valves, vents and nozzles will benefit from this powerful new product.
The video PalmScope is truly a convenient and compact alternative to VCRs for onsite inspection applications.
Tested and approved to CE and FCC regulations the video PalmScope has been designed for convenient handheld operations using images derived from any video source (PAL or NTSC).
The video PalmScope offers a choice of language for all on-screen display operations in English, French, German and Italian.
Operating in video capture mode the movie clips (motion Jpegs or Mjpegs) are stored on the video PalmScope as.mov files that can be played back on a Quicktime player under Windows.
During recording or playback a video sequence can be paused and stopped at will.
Incorporating a 6.4 inch (16 cm) TFT LCD screen the video PalmScope is also capable of displaying and freezing high quality (512 x 768 resolution), full frame resolution jpeg images on screen at the touch of a single button.
With 1Gb storage capacity the video PalmScope can store thousands of compressed images on its removable CompactFlash card.
Operating the video PalmScope is simple even for untrained operators.
Only seven front panel buttons provide intuitive control of video or image viewing, freezing, storing, file name editing and review by means of a gallery of video icons and thumbnail images.
Transferring captured video clips or images to a PC for more in-depth analysis is both rapid and simple using the video PalmScope's flashcard reader.
Data transfer through its USB serial link or parallel interface allows video clips and images to be rapidly uploaded.
Power for the video PalmScope is supplied from an on-board Ni-Mh battery pack and smart charger powered from an external power supply unit.
For applications requiring remote operation the video PalmScope also has facility for IR remote control.
