Packard BioScience has announced the introduction of the Talon integration platform for its MultiProbe II family of robotic liquid handling systems
The highly versatile Talon integration platform includes a gantry based second arm with integrated gripper tool that, when coupled to a MultiProbe II robotic liquid handling system, significantly expands its automation capabilities.
This new enabling technology was developed to provide customers with application specific platforms which benefit from full walk-away automation.
The first two applications to benefit from the powerful coupling of the MultiProbe II and the Talon integration platform are solid phase extraction and nucleic acid purification using vacuum filtration. The Talon integration platform can be used to move SBS-approved microplates, microplate lids, deepwell plates, extraction blocks and vacuum manifolds around the deck of the MultiProbe II and into its external devices.
Offering the flexibility of extended X-travel of 255mm beyond the right expansion wing allows for full integration with approved equipment such as microplate readers, labware mixers, and microplate washers.
