Specialist phase I/IIa CRO Pharmaceutical Profiles is going through one of its busiest ever periods of recruitment as demand for its services continues to increase
The company currently has a busy recruitment schedule to cope with significant increases in its work load, and is in the process of recruiting clinical technicians, study scientists, a volunteer recruitment manager, project managers, laboratory and administration staff.
It is currently looking for around 20 new recruits in total.
"The company's order books are currently very healthy indeed.
We think this is due to our innovative service offerings, scientific credentials and high quality standards - which are helping us to secure new clinical business from global pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms; now being conducted under the new European Clinical Trials Directive," explained Pharmaceutical Profiles's Paul Clewlow.
Pharmaceutical Profiles conducts human drug absorption (HDA) studies using the Enterion capsule to determine complex oral biopharmaceutical properties of new molecular entities.
HDA studies provide a 'route map' to later phase clinical development by demonstrating whether a product is suitable for oral delivery, if it will require enabling technologies to keep it in development, or is a poor drug candidate and further development should be stopped; thereby saving time and millions of dollars in unnecessary development costs.
Since 2002, the company has undertaken more than 150 complex clinical studies for major pharmaceutical companies, drug delivery companies and biotechnology companies located in North America, Europe and Japan.
It has also recently secured the prestigious Frost and Sullivan award for excellence in technology - a major US business award for its innovative approach to drug discovery and development.
