Luminometer offers very high sensitivity and broad dynamic range for bioluminescent and chemiluminescent assays, with optional reagent injectors for greater flexibility
A new luminometer that can detect as few as 3x10-21 moles of luciferase is now available from Promega.
The Turner BioSystems Veritas microplate luminometer achieves this detection limit - said to be the lowest currently obtainable - through an advanced photomultiplier tube and proprietary circuitry which together produce an unmatched signal-to-noise ratio.
With a linear dynamic range covering more than nine decades, the new luminometer spans the full measurement range of virtually every bioluminescent and chemiluminescent assay.
This means that very dim as well as very bright samples can be read without dilution.
This luminometer has been designed with input from the bioluminescence research and development team at Promega to ensure that it delivers the robustness and performance expected of a research tool. Consequently, the Veritas microplate luminometer is 'ready-to-run' for all of Promega's bioluminescence-based assays - with the additional benefit of the relevant protocols required being built-in to the system software.
Up to two autoinjectors can be added, allowing direct addition of reagents to microplate wells and hence giving the flexibility to perform both flash and glow-type luminescent assays.
Cross-talk between wells is less than 3x10-5, enabling accurate and confident quantitative measurements even in 96 well microplates.
The Veritas microplate luminometer is extremely easy to use.
Software setup wizards guide the user through protocol development and results can be exported directly to Excel spreadsheets.
All of the tubing and injector tips are completely visible even during flushing and priming, enabling potential problems to be identified and corrected before a run is started, avoiding the loss of valuable time and reagents.
The Veritas complements the existing model TD-20/20 luminometer which has been designed for a variety of tube sizes and 35mm culture dishes.
Promega says this means that it can supply a luminometer suitable for all assay formats.
