Porvair Sciences, the developer and manufacturer of applications focused microplate technology, has selected the 8th Society for Biomolecular Screening meeting in The Hague, Netherlands (23rd - 26th September 2002) to present its latest products for biomolecular screening.
On SBS exhibition stand 2071, Porvair Sciences will officially launch the Mirror Rack an innovative, new product that provides a unique, high productivity sample processing system for use with automated pipettors.
The patent pending Mirror Rack facilitates rapid and direct pipetting of cryo-vial samples from clinical trials into a standard 96-well microplate.
In conjunction with a 96-tip liquid handling head the Mirror Rack enables sample transfer into a 96-well plate in less than 40 seconds without the need to change pipette tips.
The result is a considerable increase in productivity.
Optimised for luminescence and fluorescence assay measurements the complete Krystal* range of clear bottomed microplates will be on display. Of particular interest to researchers involved in Drug Discovery departments will be the Krystal 384, a product that incorporates novel square wells with a large liquid capacity of 120*l per well increasing the sensitivity of most HTS assays performed.
Using a proprietary manufacturing technique the Krystal 384 offers market leading plate flatness (+/- 0.10mm) that translates into a significant increase in measurement precision and elimination of misreads when performing cell based assays using fluorescent imagers.
Also on display will be Porvair's comprehensive range of Deep-well and Filtration plates, the UltraVap microplate sample concentrator system and the Microlute* Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) plate that was introduced to accelerate the development of high-throughput screening applications.
