Show marked the North American debut of new automated plate sealer that can produce an accurate and tight seal on any SBS proposed standard plate from 15 to 45mm in height
Exhibiting at the recent LabAutomation 2004 meeting in San Jose, USA, Porvair Sciences - a supplier of applications focused microplate technology - presented its latest innovative products for laboratory automation.
The show marked the North American debut of the TriSeal, a new automated plate sealer that can produce an accurate and tight seal on any SBS proposed standard plate from 15 to 45mm in height.
Incorporating a unique turntable design, which allows simultaneous loading, unloading and sealing, the TriSeal achieves an average rate of 12 plates per minute.
A plate sealing productivity double the rate of competing machines. At this important international meeting considerable interest was also shown in Porvair's new range of low volume 384-well plates.
Providing a liquid capacity of just 30ul per well, the new plates were said to be of particular interest to HTS laboratories looking to conserve valuable sample and reagents. Using a proprietary manufacturing technique, Porvair's low volume 384-well plates offer what the company says is market leading plate flatness (+0.20mm), that translates into a significant increase in measurement precision and helps eliminate mishandling problems when used within automated environments. Other products that drew particular attention on the well visited stand included the recently introduced 384-well deep well plate range, the affordable MiniVap microplate solvent evaporator and Porvair's comprehensive range of Krystal clear-bottomed microplates.
