Science Marketing International, a supplier of chromatography related equipment and supplies, celebrates the end of its tenth year by changing its name to SMI-LabHut
Formed in 1994, the company started as a product management company to help US instrument manufacturers enter the complex European market.
Today, the company manages the exports for multiple product lines for six manufacturers from the USA and Europe as well as its own growing portfolio of related products. The company exports to over 60 countries and works with a network of well over 100 distributors.
Products include GC and HPLC autosamplers, flash chromatography systems and an extensive range of detector lamps, syringe filters and autosampler vials.
The company also has a specialist tablet dissolution accessory division and accompanying website.
Many people know SMI through LabHut, which this year introduced full e-commerce capability.
As LabHut has grown and developed its own identity, the relationship between SMI and LabHut has become less clear.
To clarify this, the company has decided to change its name to SMI-LabHut, with effect from 1 January 2005.
