Sevenoaks selected as site of branch office and gateway to European sales operation because of superior quality of personnel available in the UK
Scinco of Korea has opened a branch office in Sevenoaks, Kent to promote its range of UV-Vis spectrophotometers and colorimeters in Western Europe.
Scinco is a very successful scientific instrument company which was founded in 1990 by Mr Hun Choi, a well-known figure in the Korean instrument industry.
Scinco has expanded steadily since its formation and Mr Choi is now looking to increase Scinco's export turnover into Europe.
The UK was chosen as the ideal base for the new European operation for the following reasons: the English language, the superior quality of sales and marketing personnel in the UK to help penetrate the European market, and the perception in Korea of the UK being the 'gateway' to Europe.
The operation in Sevenoaks commenced trading in April 2002 and is well on the way to establishing a network of distributors throughout the EU and also further afield.
