System that has all the electronic circuitry housed in the base of the photomultiplier tube, a far more convenient and space saving approach than using a PC card
As the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for the German radiation detection specialist, Target Systemelectronic, Southern Scientific has introduced Scintispec, a new gamma ray spectrometry system that has all the electronic circuitry housed in the base of the photomultiplier tube.
Scintispec is a universal MCA with a USB interface, requires no external power supply and does not occupy a valuable NIM or MCA-PC card.
This is far more convenient and space saving than the conventional method of housing ADCs and analysing electronics on an internal PC card and provides a simple 'plug and play' spectrometry system.
A version that connects to a Palm Pilot PDA is also available.
Ideal for all types of laboratories in universities, medicine, nuclear power plants and industry, Scintispec can be fitted to any standard 14-pin scintillation detector including NaI(Tl) and CsI(Tl).
The system provides for multi-input applications and optional counter and SCA modes are available. The system also has networking capabilities.
