Forbes Global has selected Tecan for this year's list of the world's 200 best small companies
This is an outstanding achievement as of 20,000 companies outside the USA with $1 billion or less in revenue, only 1% finally make it onto this list.
Thirty-one countries were represented on the 2002 list published in the October 28 issue of Forbes Global, a sister publication of the well known American business magazine Forbes.
The selection criteria included the financial performance over the last three years as well as additional information from Forbes's wide network of fund managers, analysts and entrepreneurs.
Nevertheless, according to the authors choosing 200 out of 20,000 companies outside the USA with $1 billion or less in revenue has not been an easy task.
Forbes claims to be America's leading business magazine.
It covers areas like technology, money and investing, market trends, portfolio strategy, entrepreneurs and Forbes life.
Forbes publications including Forbes Global are read by business leaders, financial analysts and investors throughout the world.
Each year Forbes compiles lists like the 400 Best Big Companies, the 500 Largest Private Companies or the 200 Best Small Companies.
