Spectrocolorimeters for light-transmitting samples automatically give colour values in terms of the traditional colour grading scales or CIE values and spectral data
Tintometer has introduced a series of flexible spectrocolorimeters for liquids and other light transmitting samples, which are simple to use and quick to obtain results.
The new Lovibond PFX195 colorimeter automatically gives colour values in terms of the traditional colour grading scales that have been adopted as industry standards, or in terms of CIE values and spectral data.
Typical applications include chemicals, surfactants, oils, fuels, pharmaceutical liquids, beers, caramels, sugar solutions, and waters.
The PFX195 colorimeter is available as a series of industry-focused instruments, each including as standard the principal colour scales used in that sector.
Additional scales can be added as optional upgrades, either at the time of purchase or at a later date.
In addition, the PFX195 includes a number of useful features for colour analysis of liquid samples: it allows users to obtain a closest match to stored references or to build up a customised scale from a series of reference samples; measurements include a calculation and description of off-hue factor, indicating whether a given sample is a good match with the selected colour series or scale, a facility that is particularly useful for oils and chemicals that are slightly tinted; use of flow-through cells and control software allows regular, automatic measurement; it can be used with micro or semi-micro cuvettes, minimising the quantity of sample required for measurement.
Each Lovibond PFX195 is supplied complete with Windows software (for direct control from a computer, the generation of spectral and CIE diagrams and analysis of spectral data), optical glass cells and a certified glass filter of specified colour value for regular conformance testing.
