York Bioanalytical Solutions has completed the first phase of its five-year growth plan with an expanded and re-equipped laboratory
Flourishing analytical specialists York Bioanalytical Solutions (YBS) recently completed another milestone in its expansion, with investment of over £2m in equipment and facilities with more on the way in Phase 2.
The company now boasts increased mass spectrometry capacity, with a total of seven MDS Sciex LC-MS/MS systems in place.
The company has also added a dedicated robotics area housing Multiprobe II robotic liquid handling systems, increased sample storage capacity and an increased number of analyst workstations.
Further investment is in the pipeline, with plans to extend the current facility and further acquisitions of state-of-the-art technology currently being finalised.
Stephen Clarke, head of laboratory and scientific services, praised YBS's employees in enabling the expansion to proceed smoothly and without any disruption to client services. "While the company invests in new technologies and facilities, it is vital that we maintain our competitive strength - delivering high quality study data to our clients on time, and meeting unrivalled timelines for provision of QA audited draft and final study reports.

The expansion has generated ten new positions within the company, with more recruitment to follow, and further plans are being finalised for Phase 2 of York Bioanalytical Solutions's five year growth plan.
