Prime focus at Miptec 2005 will be products that enhance sample integrity and minimise sample loss, evaporation and leakage during storage and transportation
Porvair Sciences says that a prime focus of its stand at the forthcoming Miptec 2005 conference in Basle, Switzerland (9-12 May 2005) will be products that enhance sample integrity and minimise sample loss, evaporation and leakage during storage and transportation.
At this important meeting Porvair Sciences will introduce a new range of adhesive and thermal sealing films optimised for use with wide ranging microplate applications.
For high throughput environments, visitors will be able to see and discuss the TriSeal - an automated plate sealer that can produce an accurate and tight seal on any SBS proposed standard plate from 15 to 45mm in height.
Incorporating a unique turntable design, which allows simultaneous loading, unloading and sealing, the TriSeal is said to achieve productivity typically double the rate of competing machines.
For laboratories that require the versatility to be able to seal a range of different sample storage formats, specialists will be available to demonstrate the Thermobond heat sealer.
The Thermobond been designed to seal polypropylene deep well plates, PCR plates, microtitre plates and polystyrene tubes with a specially prepared pierceable film or foil, which prevents sample evaporation and leakage during storage and transportation.
Also on display will be Porvair's comprehensive selection of deep-well, low volume 384-well and Krystal clear bottomed microplates together with the company's range of innovative 96-well microplate systems that offer significant productivity benefits in SPE, protein precipitation and combinatorial chemistry applications.
