Due to its gridless ion source, this new instrument is said to provide excellent sensitivity in both positive and negative ion mode
Bruker Daltonics announces the Microflex LT, an affordable, bench-top Maldi-Tof mass spectrometer for clinical proteomics, as well as for the routine analysis of peptides, proteins and other large molecules.
Due to its gridless ion source, this new instrument provides excellent sensitivity in both positive and negative ion mode.
The linear-mode Microflex LT is a robust and easy-to-use system for many clinical and life-science laboratories.
It operates under the integrated Compass software for intuitive operation by non-expert users and in multi-instrument laboratories, with a comprehensive bioinformatics software suite.
The Microflex LT benefits from Bruker Daltonics's patented AnchorChip technology which provides exactly-positioned samples on the Maldi-target for robust automatic measurements, as well as a sensitivity boost by up to two orders of magnitude.
The Microflex LT system can be an integral module of the ClinProt solution for biomarker discovery and clinical proteomics.
ClinProt is an integrated set of tools for peptide and protein biomarker discovery, identification and validation, including automated magnetic bead based sample preparation methods, and ClinProTools comprehensive analysis, visualisation and model building software for clinical research.
For pharmaceutical customers, the Microflex LT system offers software tools to support customers in achieving 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
Bruker Daltonics also offers optional IQ, OQ and PV services to FDA-regulated customers.
Ulli Giessman, vice president of Bruker Daltonics, explains: "With the Microflex LT, we have further expanded our industry-leading Flex-series of Maldi-Tof systems.
"The Microflex LT is a modern, high-quality system that will appeal particularly to clinical researchers, pharmaceutical customers as well as smaller universities and colleges."
