Biocote's latest technology partnership is with Modulex, a company specialising in the design and supply of both internal and external signage and wayfinding systems
The effectiveness of BioCote silver-based antimicrobial technology to minimise the risk of contamination is being recognised by manufacturers supplying equipment into the healthcare and other sectors where hygiene is a major concern, says the company.
Biocote's latest technology partnership is with Modulex.
This company specialises in the design and supply of both internal and external signage and wayfinding systems.
With products manufactured to ISO9001, offering guaranteed standards of quality and finish, Modulex is now able to supplement its initial three year and supplementary seven year guarantees against product defect, with the ability to offer a risk reduction against the growth or proliferation of surface bacteria.
Modulex products are used in a wide range of commercial and public environments, but items used in hospitals or other medical related areas, which now incorporate the unique BioCote treatment, can help prevent the spread of cross contamination which can lead to healthcare acquired infections.
Any surface areas have the potential, through air-borne or physical contacts, to become breeding grounds for bacteria.
However, the BioCote active ingredient is silver which forms the basis of their successful anti-microbial treatments, providing a reduction of up to 99.9% against most common bacterial fungi.
BioCote treatments are available for metals, plastics and other substrates including fabrics and paper, offering the most comprehensive level of protective surface treatments currently available.
They are specified for a wide range of equipment and materials available today throughout the healthcare market, with an acceptance for treated products now growing in many other areas including food processing and preparation markets, where the need for cleanliness and hygiene is also paramount.
