The purpose of the range is to provide high quality, robust microscopes that are easy for students to use and affordable for all educational establishments
GX Microscopes has launched a range of 23 microscopes aimed at schools colleges and university teaching laboratories.
The prices start from less than 70 euro (US$75) and, in the UK, the purchase of one particular model, the XSJ-20A, is subsidised by the Royal Microscopical Society charity following an evaluation of the microscope for suitability for elementary use.
The wide range reflects the diverse needs of the educational sector and ensures that the school, college or university obtains exactly what it needs without having to suffer too many compromises between functionality and price.
All the microscopes in the GX Microscopes Education Microscope Range have tough metal frames and high quality glass optics and are supported by an expert team of service engineers.
Special anti-tampering devices are employed on some models such as lockable eyepieces.
Many of the powered microscopes can be supplied with LED illumination instead of standard lamps.
This has the great advantages of low temperature operation, eliminating the risk of burnt fingers on hot bulbs, low voltages and, if purchased with the rechargeable batteries option, the microscopes are completely wire-free making them much easier to set up for a lesson.
The life of the batteries is exceptionally long after they are charged, because the power demand of the LED illumination system is so low.
