More than 40% of the exhibition floor space has been booked during the first week of exhibitor registration for Microscience 2006, the organiser reports
With every major light and electron microscopy company either booking or reserving space booked on the first day, the rush to secure a place at next year's conference and exhibition reflects the reputation and standing that the event has acquired since moving to London's Excel Centre in 2002, it says.
Among the first to book were Agar Scientific, Carl Zeiss and FEI.
"Microscience 2002 and 2004 set a very high standard, but I have no doubt that Microscience 2006 will live up to everyone's expectations.
"With all the significant light and EM microscopy companies represented, there's a lot to look forward to," said Lynne Joyce, managing director at Agar Scientific.
Rod Shipley, newly-appointed European sales director at FEI, commented: "Excel is a fantastic venue in which to host a combined exhibition and scientific conference, with excellent road, rail and air links for visitors from the whole of the UK.
"What's more, the close proximity of City Airport and the abundance of low-cost fares available throughout Europe will help to increase further the proportion of continental visitors".
According to Aubrey Lambert, marketing manager for Carl Zeiss UK, "Booking our largest ever exhibition stand was an easy decision.
"When an event consistently delivers quality speakers, innovative learning opportunities and the cream of the world's microscopy companies, it just has to be put in the diary as soon as possible".
As well as the major light and electron microscope companies, imaging software and consumables were also represented among the 22 companies booking in the first week.
Also among the first to book was specialist microscopy magazine Microscopy and Analysis.
As well as more than 1100m2 of trade stands, Microscience 2006 will once again devote 200m2 to a unique interactive Learning Zone.
This novel concept was developed for Microscience 2004 and proved a huge hit with visitors.
Microscience is said to be Europe's largest microscopy and imaging event.
As well as exhibitors, registration is now open to attendees, as are calls for poster submissions.
Microscience 2006 will be the major European event devoted exclusively to the interests of microscopy and imaging equipment users.
It comprises an extensive scientific conference with lectures, tutorials, poster sessions, seminars and workshops.
Visitors will be able to see the latest advances in light microscopy, SEM, TEM, software, and hardware for image processing and analysis, plus specimen preparation equipment and allied laboratory supplies from a wide range of manufacturers in the extensive exhibition area.
Microscience 2006 will be held at London's Excel conference and exhibition centre on 27-29 June 2006.
