Point Technologies has announced that a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has opened and is shipping product from Costa Rica
The new plant is located in Global Park, Heredia Province, in the Greater San Jose area.
"The first products to ship from our new Costa Rica facility were microarray spotting pins used in genomic and proteomic research.
"New equipment is being installed daily and our medical device customers in Costa Rica, USA, Europe, and Asia will be seeing product from this new plant very shortly" said Kirk O'Brien, CEO and president of Point Technologies.
The new company, Point Technologies SA, is a Costa Rican corporation 100% owned by Point Technologies.
It joins Point Technologies's facilities in Colorado, Minnesota and a sales and engineering support office in Germany that serve Point Tech customers worldwide.
Point Technologies manufactures critical components for microarray printing in addition to medical devices using its core competencies of precision wire and tube micro-machining, burr-free cutting, and electrochemical pointing and plating technologies for small diameter wire and tubing.
