Software package allows experimental data to be securely collected, analysed, stored, and shared among professionals including biologists, chemists, regulatory, quality assurance, and records managers
Infotrieve, a provider of content management technology and information services for the life sciences and other R and D-intensive industries, has announced the immediate availability of the Infotrieve ELN 2.4.
This is an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) enterprise software package that allows experimental data to be securely collected, analysed, stored, and shared among all pharmaceutical professionals, including biologists, chemists, regulatory, quality assurance, and records management professionals.
"The Infotrieve ELN was designed to enable biotech and pharma companies to better manage intellectual property; speed regulatory, quality assurance, and legal processes; and maximise information flow across departments," said Wes Crews, Infotrieve president and CEO.
"Paper notebooks are still being used at a majority of life science companies and R and D organisations despite their poor impact on productivity, collaboration, and security.
"When compared to paper and even other electronic systems, the Infotrieve ELN has been shown in studies to improve operational efficiency by more than 30% at the enterprise level, and to allow biologists and chemists to log experimental data with greater efficiency, to access and integrate it more effectively, and to share it more securely".
The Infotrieve ELN was founded on the GenSys ELN, which was acquired by Infotrieve in December 2004.
It was recognised for the second year in a row as the top data management product by Scientific Computing and Instrumentation magazine for its comprehensive data management features.
A cross-disciplinary platform, Infotrieve ELN is compatible with most technology providers and can be scaled to meet the needs of both small biotechnology companies and Fortune 100 pharmaceutical companies.
The first enterprise-wide laboratory notebook to receive the full endorsement of the Collaborative Electronic Notebook Systems Association (Censa), Infotrieve ELN offers secure data sharing as well as electronic witnessing and digital signature capabilities for intellectual property protection and compliance with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations 21 Part 11 (21 CFR 11).
When combined with Infotrieve's Life Science Research Center (LSRC) web-based search platform, the ELN allows researchers to efficiently augment experimental data entry with information from journals, laboratory product catalogues, and gene and patent databanks.
"The Infotrieve ELN provides award-winning experimental data entry and management capabilities and best-in-class IP protection in a cross-disciplinary platform," said Crews.
"It is the most comprehensive and flexible ELN solution on the market".
