Malvern Instruments will display the latest advances in particle and droplet size analysis in sprays and aerosols on its exhibition stand at the 20th annual meeting of the Institute of Liquid Atomization Spray Systems (Ilass), Europe, which will be held 5-7 September 2005 in Orleans, France.
Malvern's laser diffraction-based Spraytec system is an established tool for particle size analysis in sprays, delivering real-time, high-speed measurements that enable the complete characterisation of both continuous and pulsed spray events.
High acquisition speeds, coupled with the ability to cover a broad size range, ensure that changes in spray particle size can be precisely tracked with microsecond resolution.
In addition, Malvern's patented multiple scattering analysis ensures measurement accuracy is maintained even when the spray concentration is high.
Particle size in sprays and aerosols is important in defining product performance in a range of applications, from the delivery of pharmaceutical formulations through to the application of coatings and agrochemicals, and the development of fuel injection systems.
