Glass bottom microplates combine the excellent optical properties of glass, low background and low birefringence, with the versatility of a microplate
Porvair Sciences has launched a new range of glass bottom microplates that provide high-sensitivity detection for confocal imaging and detection applications where extremely low backgrounds with no crosstalk are required.
Additionally, the new glass bottom microplates are extremely flat with curvatures below 100 microns.
For these reasons the new Porvair glass bottom microplates demonstrate higher performance than standard polystyrene plates for fluorescence assays, luminescence detection, scintillation counting and high-resolution microscopy using confocal imaging, says the company.
Offered in both 96- and 384-well microplate formats, the new plates are available without surface modification or tissue culture treated to optimise cell growth on the glass surfaces.
The high clarity glass bottom of these plate facilitates easy positioning for microscope objectives.
Based upon a standard microplate format, each Porvair glass bottom microplate is fully compatible with automated liquid handling and robotic devices providing considerable productivity benefits.
