Improved encoder improves the angular resolution of the spindle position by a factor of 50 over the existing design and broader speed range
Brookfield now offers the enhanced R/S Plus rheometer, which it says provides increased speed range, control resolution and measurement sensitivity.
The R/S Plus features an improved encoder that increases the angular resolution of the spindle position to 15.7 micro radians, which is 50 times better than the existing design, according to Brookfield.
This provides improved control at low torque and shear rates, delivers increased sensitivity at low shear rates for smoother data, a more precise static yield test capability and more information for creep testing.
The R/S Plus features a broader speed range from 0.1 to 1000rpm.
This increases the shear rate capability of the instrument in both stand-alone operation as well as under PC control.
The R/S Plus is designed for rheological evaluation of materials through the direct measurement of viscosity, yield stress, thixotropic response, creep and other flow properties.
The R/S Plus and Brookfield's Rheo2000 software provide powerful flow characterisation tools including shear ramp, loop and single point testing.
The R/S Plus is available with cone/plate, plate/plate, or coaxial cylinder measurement geometries.
It is engineered to meet the demands of quality control labs and to provide sophisticated flexibility for research environments as well as the production floor.
