The systems feature focused beam technology and a small bandwidth, which ensure new levels of accuracy and reproducibility, even with minor variances in cell positioning
Beckman Coulter introduces the DU Series 700 UV/vis scanning spectrophotometer, with many new capabilities for life science and general research applications.
For very small volumes in applications such as nucleic acid research, the DU 700 Series can accommodate Beckman Coulter's 50ul Microcells.
The DU 720 model is said to be ideal for general purpose applications and features fixed wavelength, wavelength scan, time and kinetics measurements and single component analysis.
The DU 730 model for life science applications adds advanced tools for protein and nucleic acid analysis, including determination of dye incorporation percentage for microarrays and a new set of DNA/protein calculation and conversion tools.
With a touch-screen user interface, the DU 700 Series is easier to use than competitive systems with keyboard controls, says Beckman Coulter.
USB ports enable direct connections to printers and memory devices.
Data is transferred easily to a PC in CSV (comma separated values) format.
The DU 700 Series's sophisticated software offers operator ID and password protection along with a wide range of application tools.
"The DU 700 Series delivers unparalleled value for this price range," commented Andres Lobeiras, strategic product marketing manager for Beckman Coulter.
"This affordable instrument features many unique capabilities that are simply not available on similarly priced systems".
Beckman Coulter is a manufacturer of biomedical testing instrument systems, tests and supplies that simplify and automate laboratory processes.
