Bent tubing is a component in a medical device industry for precision laboratory equipment and for interventional medical devices for arthroscopy, endoscopy, cardiology, orthopedics, and ophthalmics
Point Technologies, a critical component supplier to the medical device industry, announced the expansion of its capacity for bending small diameter metal tubing.
Point Technologies bends and forms metal tubing, including; stainless steel, MP35N, titanium, and several other alloys in diameters from as small 1-6mm OD (outside diameter).
Point Technologies has had tube bending capability in its Boulder, Colorado headquarters facility for some time.
The company has expanded this capability to its Minnesota division located in Gibbon, as well as its new biomedical manufacturing plant in Heredia, Costa Rica.
The process has also been automated with several types of quick change tooling for rapid prototyping.
Automatic camera inspection offers high quality, fast production times, and full traceability.
Point Tech supplies bent tubing to medical device manufacturers in the USA, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Bent tubing is often a critical component in a medical device industry for precision laboratory equipment and for interventional medical devices for arthroscopy, endoscopy, cardiology, orthopedics, and ophthalmics.
In addition to tube bending, the company offers small hole drilling, slotting, notching, flaring, electropolishing of virtually all metals and alloys, electrochemical sharpening, electroplating, passivation and oxide removal for all metals, including a nickel-titanium alloy known as Nitinol.
Kevin Shutes, vice president of Point Technologies's Minnesota division, said: "tube bending has become an increasingly important service for our medical device customers.
"We are pleased to be able to expand our capacity in all three plants, including our new operation in Costa Rica".
The expanded service is available now, and samples can be obtained free of charge by contacting the company.
Point Technologies is a privately held manufacturing company with operations in Colorado, Minnesota, Costa Rica and sales representation around the world.
It is focused on precision micro and nano-scale electrochemical and mechanical machining for small diameter wire and tubing to serve the medical device, biotech and semiconductor industries.
