Alisa Wright, chief executive officer of BioConvergence, has joined the dean's advisory council at the Indiana University School of Informatics
Wright will join a group of business, community and industry leaders who advise the School on curriculum and program development, public and private sector funding, research support, long-range planning, student guidance, external relations and institutional advancement.
"Alisa Wright brings more than 20 years of research and industry experience that will advance the School's strategic goals," said informatics dean Michael Dunn.
"Her expertise will help bolster what we believe is one of the most innovative and timely education programs in the country." Wright oversees operations at BioConvergence, which provides a range of professional and technical services such as pharmaceutical product development, storage and logistics and engineering and supply chain consulting.
She co-founded the company in 2004 with Lance Wright, who serves as its chief engineering officer.
BioConvergence is the fourth company Wright has founded.
The company recently relocated to a new and larger facility on Bloomington's west side.
"I'm honoured to join the dean's advisory council as BioConvergence has applied informatics throughout its operations and realized benefits for our employees directly and for our clients indirectly through our ability to be electronically transparent - what we call 'e-transparency'," Wright said.
She has worked within several successful life sciences companies, including Eli Lilly, Cook, and Baxter Pharmaceutical Solutions.
She has more than 15 years of contract service provider experience from both the sourcing and supplier perspectives.
Wright received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a master's degree in engineering from Purdue University.
