The event will be the largest event of its kind in the world and visitors will need to plan their trip carefully if they are to make the most of everything on offer
The schedule for WWEM 2006 (Telford, UK, 1-2 Nov 06) is packed with conferences, workshops and a large exhibition.
Organiser Marcus Pattison warns that some of the visitors to last year's event (which was much smaller) regretted not allocating more time in advance, adding: "Some of last year's visitors found that after attending a conference and two or three workshops, insufficient time remained to browse the exhibition.
"Many of this year's visitors have therefore booked a two-day visit, which also enables them to attend the Gala MCerts presentation dinner and enjoy an evening with comic Jimmy Carr (of '8 out of 10 Cats' fame)".
WWEM 2006 will focus on the regulations and technologies involved with the testing and monitoring of water, both online, in the field and in the laboratory.
As such, it will appeal to a wide range of job functions in any organisation that handles water or wastewater.
Pattison says that WWEM's growth has been across the board.
"This year there will be a choice of three conferences, a wider variety of workshops and the exhibition has doubled in size.
"So, whether visitors are responsible for environmental management, or the monitoring of wastewater, process water, water resources, or even testing the local swimming pool; a wealth of information awaits them in Telford.
"However, the number of online visitor registrations was more than three times the 2005 levels with a month still to go before WWEM opens its doors, so I would urge everyone to plan their visit carefully and reserve a place as soon as possible."
